Marija Savic is an Associate in Research in the Weed Science program at Washington State University (WSU), working under Dr. Ian Burke. She holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Agriculture (Department of Phytomedicine), and a master’s degree from WSU’s Department of Crop and Soil Sciences. Her research focuses on chemical control of weeds like smooth scouringrush (Equisetum laevigatum) in Pacific Northwest dryland cropping systems.
Before her master’s, she completed an internship at the University of Nebraska Lincoln’s Pesticide Application Technology Laboratory. At WSU, she also worked as a Research Assistant for Dr. Drew Lyon. Her expertise spans pesticide application, crop protection strategies, and sustainable agricultural practices.
