Marie-Alexandre CHAIX

Marie-Alexandre Chaix is an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the Université de Montréal's Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medicine. She is affiliated with the Montreal Heart Institute (ICM) and focuses on congenital heart diseases and heart failure in adults. Her research emphasizes understanding the specific physiology of heart failure in patients with right ventricular morphology in biventricular circulation. She leads multiple grants, including a 2022–2026 project funded by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS) to study congenital heart diseases in adults. She also collaborates in the Canadian Heart Failure Transformation Alliance, a national initiative improving heart failure care. Her teaching includes student supervision, such as Charles Desrosiers-Gagnon's 2024 Master's thesis on exercise capacity in congenital heart defects.

Research Interests: Her work combines clinical cardiology with translational research, addressing adult congenital heart disease pathophysiology and patient outcomes.
