Marianka Pille, M.D., FAAP is the Chair and Associate Professor in Specialty Medicine at Des Moines University's College of Osteopathic Medicine. She holds additional roles as Associate Professor in the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Program and serves as Clerkship Director for the Pediatrics core clerkship. Her leadership roles include Co-coordinator for the ENT portion of Clinical Science IV and Director of the Neonatal portion of Clinical Medicine II.
Dr. Pille's education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Yale University (cum laude with distinction) and a Medical Doctor degree from Baylor College of Medicine, followed by pediatric residency at Baylor affiliated hospitals. She completed the Iowa Health System Physician Leadership Academy (2011-2012).
Her professional service spans academic governance as Chair of the COM Admissions Committee (2019-21) and current member of the COM Academic Progress Committee. Community leadership includes Board Member and President (2022-24) of the Iowa Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and roles in Polk County Early Childhood Iowa and IDPH Infectious Disease Advisory Council.
Teaching responsibilities include pediatric lectures across organ system courses, NeoLab simulations for second-year DO students, and guest lectures in DPT, PA, and MSA programs. She maintains active clinical teaching in her practice and holds certifications as a Board Certified Pediatrician and licensed physician in Iowa.
