Maria Matilde Fondo Busto

Maria Matilde Fondo Busto is a full-time Professor in the Department of Inorganic Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Santiago de Compostela. She earned her PhD in 1995 with a thesis on the reactivity of metal complexes against SO₂, supervised by Dr. Antonio Sousa Alonso and Dr. Manuel R. Bermejo Patiño.

She has contributed to synthesizing macrocyclic ligands, studying ring-chain tautomerism, and developing fluorescent probes for metal ions. Collaborations involve structural, magnetic, and computational analyses of lanthanide complexes.
