About
JESUS SANMARTIN MATALOBOS is a Professor in the Department of Inorganic Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Santiago de Compostela, with additional affiliation at the Materials Institute (iMATUS).
He earned his Doctorate from the University of Santiago de Compostela in 1992, completing a thesis titled 'Electrochemical synthesis and study of new metal complexes derived from 1-hydroxy-2-pyridinethione and related ligands, of interest for human health' under the supervision of Dr. Manuel R. Bermejo Patiño.
His research spans Inorganic Chemistry, specializing in Supramolecular Chemistry, Bioinorganic Chemistry, and Coordination Chemistry, with emphasis on electrochemical synthesis of metal complexes for biomedical applications. Current work focuses on ligand-derived complexes targeting human health solutions.
He actively participates in the Suprametal research group (Coordination and supramolecular chemistry) and was previously affiliated with the SUPRABIOIN group (Bioinorganic and Supramolecular Chemistry).
