Maria Kraimer

Maria Kraimer is the Chair of the Organization and Human Resources department and the Donald S. Carmichael Professor of Organizational Behavior at the School of Management, University at Buffalo. She holds a PhD in Management from the University of Illinois at Chicago, an MBA from the same institution, and a BS in Business Administration from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

Her research focuses on career transitions, global work challenges, and the employee-employer relationship. Key areas include leadership effectiveness in diverse workgroups, the impact of global work demands, and mentor-protégé dynamics. She has also explored organizational embeddedness, academic career success, and the role of social capital in career advancement.

Kraimer’s publications span journals like Journal of Applied Psychology, Academy of Management Journal, and Journal of Organizational Behavior. Her work has earned prestigious awards, including the 2024 Best Quantitative Paper Award and the 2022 Best Published Paper Award from the Academy of Management. She has also held editorial leadership roles, including Editor-in-Chief of Personnel Psychology and Journal of Management Scientific Reports.
