Maria Kim

Maria Kim is a pediatrician, researcher, and educator affiliated with the Yale School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry. She serves as Co-Founding Director of Tingathe, a program addressing HIV and psychosocial needs in Malawi, and previously led the USAID-funded Technical Support Program, impacting nine Sub-Saharan African countries. Her work focuses on improving outcomes for children and families affected by HIV, mental health interventions in resource-limited settings, and implementation science.

Research interests include adolescent depression, tele-mental health, healthcare worker burnout, and adverse childhood experiences. She has secured NIH grants (KO1, RO1) and managed a research fellowship program to develop young scientists in Malawi. Current goals involve expanding access to mental health services globally through novel interventions.
