Maria Kerzmann

Maria Kerzmann is an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at Minot State University (College of Arts and Sciences). She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Criminal Justice from North Dakota State University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology from the same institution.

Her scholarly work focuses on corrections, with specific emphasis on evidence-based practices, correctional rehabilitation, actuarial risk assessments, and sexual offender management. Dr. Kerzmann has published in journals such as Corrections: Policy, Practices, and Research and Journal of Crime and Justice, and serves on the editorial board for the International Journal of Law and Society. She actively presents her research at academic conferences.

Currently, Dr. Kerzmann contributes to the Children of Incarcerated Parents Initiative through the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (ND DOCR) and participates in multiple Minot State University committees. She also co-advises the Criminal Justice student club.
