About
Maria Dravecka is a PhD Research Fellow at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, affiliated with the Cell Signaling and Targeted Therapy research group. Her work focuses on the role of tissue acidosis in solid tumors.
- Research: Investigating acidic tumor microenvironments
- Teaching: Assistant in pharmacology courses FAR-2206 and FAR-2207
Research Interests
Studying how acidic microenvironments (pH 6.5-6.9) in solid tumors influence cancer progression, cellular behavior, and therapy resistance. Key areas include molecular responses to acidosis and development of targeted therapeutic strategies.
Publications
Focus on cancer cell adaptation to low pH, ammonia toxicity, and tumor metabolism. See latest work in Cell Death Discovery (2025).
