Maria Broderick, Ed.D., MAOM, Lic.Ac. serves as Associate Professor and Director of Clinical Education at the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA), which is part of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPhs). She holds a doctoral degree in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard University and a master's degree in Oriental Medicine from NESA. With over 18 years of experience as a developmental psychologist and 6 years of experience in pediatric Chinese medicine, Dr. Broderick has established herself as a leader in integrative medicine approaches to autism and pediatric care.
Her research interests focus on pediatric acupuncture, autism treatment through Qigong Sensory Therapy (QST), adult learning, and clinical education. Dr. Broderick has advanced training in pediatric acupuncture and Qigong sensory treatment for autism, and has conducted research on holistic approaches to health at Harvard's Mind/Body Medical Institute, Boston area hospitals, and research centers. She is a certified QST therapist since 2007 and has served as a master trainer for QST therapists since 2014, offering annual East-coast training for QST therapists.
Dr. Broderick's publication record spans several decades, with recent work focusing on integrative approaches to neonatal abstinence syndrome, pediatric pain management, and autism treatment. Her research demonstrates a consistent trajectory from developmental psychology toward integrative medicine applications, particularly in using Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities for anxiety, autism, and pain management.

Dr. Broderick serves on the faculty of the Academic Consortium for Integrative Health and is affiliated with the Acupuncture Society of Massachusetts. As Director of Clinical Education at NESA, she oversees clinical training programs including Acupuncture (DAC), Acupuncture Doctor (DAC) Completion, Acupuncture (MAC), Acupuncture (MAC CHM), Chinese Herbal Medicine (CAGS), and Japanese Acupuncture Certificate programs. Her work bridges Western medical approaches with Traditional Chinese Medicine to develop evidence-based integrative care models, particularly for vulnerable populations served by safety net hospitals.
