Maria Ali

Maria Ali is a PhD researcher at the College of Engineering, IT and Environment, supervised by Dr. Vinuthaa Murthy. Her research focuses on PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) in water and their removal using hydrotalcite and nanoparticles.

Her research interests include environmental chemistry, nanoparticle technology for water remediation, and bioactive compound analysis in plants like fenugreek. Current projects involve developing synthetic chemicals and ion-exchange resins to mitigate PFAS health effects. Past work explored antioxidant and antimicrobial properties of fenugreek against organic solvents, resulting in a publication on bioactive compounds.
