Mari Maya Medina is a Lecturer in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures and a Research Student in the School of Education at Durham University. She holds qualifications including a degree in Translation and Interpreting Studies from Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona, a postgraduate in Legal Translation from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and an MA by Research in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from the University of Barcelona and Pompeu Fabra University.
Her professional experience includes secondary school Spanish teaching across the North East of England, language centre instruction at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and University of Sunderland, and professional legal translation work. At Durham, she teaches Spanish language in undergraduate programs, contributes to specialized translation coursework, and supervises translation projects in the MA in Translation Studies.
