Margo K. Apostolos is a Professor at the USC Kaufman School of Dance and President of USC’s Academic Senate. She co-founded the Cedars-Sinai/USC Glorya Kaufman Dance Medicine Center and has held visiting roles at Princeton University. Her academic background includes a PhD from Stanford University, an MA in Dance from Northwestern University, and a BS from Southern Illinois University.

Dr. Apostolos’ research spans Dance Science, Dance Medicine, and Robot Choreography, with a focus on integrating dance into sports training and healthcare. Her pioneering work in Dance for Sports has been presented at major international events, including the Olympic Games.
Her publications, including two books (Dance For Sports: A Practical Guide and Dance As A Catalyst: An Interdisciplinary Journey), highlight her interdisciplinary approach. Her work also intersects with Space Telerobotics, reflecting collaborations with NASA and Cal Tech.

Dr. Apostolos has advised numerous athletes, many of whom became NFL players and Olympic gold medalists, and developed the Dance Minor program at USC School of Dramatic Arts. She leads the Open Gate Dance Program and teaches courses on dance as an art form and conditioning.
