Dr. Margit Ruffing is an academic researcher and Managing Director of the Kant Research Center at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. She serves as Academic Director and leads the Kant Studies editorial office. Her research focuses on Kant's philosophy of religion, the interplay between faith and knowledge in modernity, and the transnational influence of Kantian thought in France, Brazil, and Germany. She has held visiting lecturer roles in Brazil, Italy, Spain, Slovakia, and Latvia, and directed programs at the Collège International de Philosophie in Paris (2013-2019).
- Co-editor of proceedings for the 10th, 11th, and 12th International Kant Congresses (2005–2018)
- Member of the Kant Society and Schopenhauer Society boards
- Vice-president of the Société d'Études Kantiennes de Langue Française
Her scientific activities include maintaining ongoing Kant and Schopenhauer bibliographies since the early 1990s, contributing to interdisciplinary academic networks, and advancing Kantian studies through international collaborations.
