Prof. Dr. Heiner F. Klemme is a full-time Professor for the History of Philosophy at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg since October 2014. He serves as Founding Director of the Immanuel Kant Forum and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Interdisciplinary Center for the Study of the European Enlightenment (IZEA). Previously, he held professorships at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (2008-2014), University of Wuppertal (2006-2008), and has served as visiting scholar in China, Brazil, and Canada.
Research Focus: Specializing in Modern and Contemporary Philosophy, his work centers on Enlightenment thought, Immanuel Kant, David Hume, and practical philosophy (ethics and legal philosophy). He leads international research projects on Kant's concept of maturity and Kant in South America, funded by the German Research Foundation and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.

Advising & Grants: He has directed the Kant Research Center at Mainz (2008-2014) and serves on multiple editorial and advisory boards. His research includes systematic defense of Kant's ethics against contemporary misinterpretations and fresh perspectives on modern philosophical issues using Kantian frameworks.
