Marcus Hanratty is a Lecturer in Interaction and Product Design at the National College of Art and Design, where he coordinates the MA Interaction Design program. With a PhD in Digital Design for Sustainable Behaviour from Loughborough Design School, his research examines how design and technology influence human behavior, particularly in sustainable practices and wellbeing.
Hanratty's work develops frameworks for behavior change through design interventions, with applications in healthcare, sustainability, and product design. He collaborates on research projects focused on Positive Design methodologies and wellbeing-oriented design strategies.
Publications include contributions to the Routledge book Design for Social Responsibility: Design for Behaviour Change and articles in ACM Transactions on Computer-Human Interaction. He received the Best Poster Award at the University of Bath's Domestic Energy Use conference.
