Dr. Marcela Ramos is a Research Affiliate at the School of Education, University of Glasgow. An interdisciplinary researcher with expertise spanning education, economics, and sociology, she focuses on social justice, inequality, and sustainability. Her work critically examines neoliberal educational policies and their impact on families and communities, with particular emphasis on the Chilean context as an extreme case of marketized education.

Her recent publications analyze sociocultural factors affecting smallholder farmers' technology adoption in Colombia, pluriversal approaches to literacy, and the relationship between education and sustainability. Her work demonstrates consistent focus on how educational policies reproduce inequalities and how sustainable futures might be imagined and enacted.
