María del Pilar Roca Salom is a Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in the Department of Fundamental Biology and Health Sciences at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). She is the principal investigator of the Multidisciplinary Translational Oncology group at IdISBa and a member of the Energy Metabolism and Nutrition research group at UIB.
Her research focuses on energy metabolism in pathophysiological conditions, particularly in cancer, aging, and obesity. She integrates molecular and biochemical approaches to understand metabolic dysregulation in disease, with a strong translational orientation toward clinical applications in oncology and nutrition.
She supervises Master's and PhD students in the Doctoral Programs in Translational Research in Public Health and High-Prevalence Diseases and in Nutrition and Food Sciences.
