Dr. Manuel Rausch is an Associate Professor at The University of Texas at Austin, holding joint appointments in the Departments of Aerospace Engineering & Engineering Mechanics and Biomedical Engineering. He holds the General Dynamics Endowed Faculty Fellowship. His research focuses on soft-tissue biomechanics, cardiovascular device design, and material modeling. He leads the Soft Tissue Biomechanics Laboratory, which investigates right-sided cardiovascular diseases and develops predictive tools for diagnosis and therapy.
Dr. Rausch earned his PhD from Stanford University in 2013, followed by industry experience as Director of R&D at a medical device company and a postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University. He joined UT Austin in 2017 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2023.
