Manuel Pastor is Distinguished Professor of Sociology and American Studies & Ethnicity at USC, where he directs the Equity Research Institute. His research examines urban poverty, regional equity, environmental justice, and immigrant integration.
Pastor has authored influential books including 'State of Resistance' and 'Solidarity Economics,' analyzing economic inequality and social movements. He received the 2022 American Academy of Arts and Sciences fellowship and was named an LA Times Influential leader in 2024.
