Malin Håkansson

Malin Håkansson serves as a Lecturer at KTH Royal Institute of Technology within the Division of Ergonomics. She teaches courses in the international master's program Work, Technology, and Health, as well as undergraduate and continuing education courses including Sustainable Development and Ergonomics (HF1201) and Change Leadership and Work Environment Improvements (CH204V).

Her research focuses on socially sustainable working systems, particularly examining the effects of Lean Production on working conditions in industrial environments. With a background as a physical therapist for approximately 10 years in healthcare organizations prior to joining KTH, she brings practical experience to her academic work.

Dr. Håkansson's publications reveal consistent research output between 2012-2021, with a thematic concentration on the intersection of Lean Manufacturing, ergonomics, and worker well-being. Her work demonstrates particular attention to how managerial practices can support favorable psychosocial work environments during organizational change processes.

Her doctoral thesis, Lean Transformation of Industrial Work: Understanding What Supports Socially Sustainable Working Conditions During Lean Manufacturing (2019), represents a significant contribution to understanding the relationship between production systems and worker health.

As an educator, she is course responsible for multiple offerings including Occupational Safety and Health Management and Change (HN2015), System Safety and Risk Management (HN2022), and Sustainability and Ergonomics (HF1201), demonstrating her comprehensive expertise across ergonomics applications.
