Mahmut Çınar

Prof. Dr. Mahmut Çınar, Gaziantep University Faculty of Theology Department of Kalam member since 2019, holds a PhD in Kalam from Marmara University (2011). His academic journey includes roles as Professor (2019–), Associate Professor (2014–2019), and Doctor Lecturer (2011–2014), with administrative leadership as Dean (2019–2023) and Department Head (2017–2019).

Research Interests span Theology, Kalam, Islamic Sects, Mysticism, Religious Philosophy, and Islamic Ethics, focusing on prophetic studies, Mahdism, and interfaith dynamics. His work examines historical and contemporary theological debates, including disaster theology and socio-religious cohesion.

Publications include over 66 books/chapters and 37 articles, analyzing topics like Prophetic Characteristics, Revelation Epistemology, and Religious Tolerance. Notable themes include the theological implications of natural disasters, Mahdism's socio-political dimensions, and Islamic ethical frameworks.

Students supervised include PhD candidates and graduates working on topics such as early Hanafi-Maturidi theology, Islamic ethics, and contemporary theological challenges.

Projects led include international studies on North Syria Religious Life (2020), Kalam Metodoloji (2015–2016), and Afrin Educational Challenges (2024). He has also contributed to AR-GE projects on systematic Kalam and Islamic unity.
