Mustafa BORSBUĞA is a Lecturer at the Department of Fundamental Islamic Sciences, Faculty of Islamic Studies at Ankara Sosyal Bilimler Üniversitesi. He holds a BA from Marmara University Faculty of Theology (2011-2015), an MA in Kalam from Marmara University Institute of Social Sciences (2015-2017), and is pursuing a PhD at Ankara University Faculty of Theology since 2018.
His research focuses on classical Islamic theology (Kalam), metaphysics of free will, and critical editions of theological manuscripts. Notable projects include examining Jalāl al-Dīn al-Da’s commentary on Alī al-Kūshī’s works and analyzing Mâtürîdî theological sources. He has published widely on topics such as human agency, destiny, and Ottoman theological commentaries.
BORSBUĞA has supervised one master’s thesis and taught courses in Islamic theology and Kalam history. His work bridges historical textual analysis with contemporary theological discourse, emphasizing the relevance of classical sources to modern debates.
