Magnus Andreassen

Magnus Andreassen is a Research Fellow at the Department of Physics, University of Oslo, affiliated with the Centre for Materials Science and Nanotechnology and the SOLARIS research project. He contributes to experimental work involving pulsed laser deposition (PLD) systems in UiO's MiNaLab.

His research focuses on solar energy applications through photoelectrochemistry and thin film technologies. Current work involves wide bandgap materials and interface energetics for water splitting. Recent publications highlight bandgap engineering of oxides and operando XPS analysis of nitride/electrolyte interfaces.

Andreassen teaches FYS1001 - Introduction to Physics and MENA1001 - Materials, Energy and Nanotechnology at the University of Oslo. He maintains expertise in PLD system operation and contributes to Solid-state Physics and Quantum Technology research groups.
