About
Maggie Macdonald is Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Kentucky's College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a PhD from Emory University and previously served as Postdoctoral Fellow at NYU's Center for Social Media and Politics.
Her research examines how American political elites communicate publicly through new technologies, with focus on campaign strategies, legislative communication, and interest group activity on social media. Current projects investigate multi-platform campaign strategies and interest group lobbying through social media.
Publications demonstrate methodological innovation in analyzing large-scale social media data to understand communication patterns across campaigns, Congress, and interest groups.
