Dr Maggie Inchley is a Reader in Contemporary Theatre and Performance and Director of Schools Engagement at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), School of English and Drama. She holds degrees from the University of Cambridge (BA Hons), University of London (MA, PhD), and a PGCE. Her research explores voice, cultural audibility, and participatory theatre practices, particularly with marginalized groups like care-experienced youth. She leads The Verbatim Formula, a project using verbatim theatre to amplify youth voices in the care system. She teaches modules on drama education, voice, and performance, and collaborates widely with arts organizations. Public engagement includes workshops, policy consultations, and advocacy for asylum seekers through projects like Asylum Monologues. Her work bridges academic research, performance, and social justice, emphasizing ethical storytelling and systemic change.
