Maggie Greene

Maggie Greene is an Assistant Professor of History at Montana State University, specializing in Asian history and games & play. She earned her PhD in modern Chinese history from the University of California San Diego in 2013 after completing her undergraduate studies at Mary Washington, where she graduated in 2006.

• Education: PhD in Modern Chinese History (UC San Diego, 2013), BA in History (University of Mary Washington, 2006)
• Research Interests: Modern Chinese history, military history (via thesis on Frederick Townsend Ward & Charles Gordon in the Taiping Civil War), and pedagogical applications of games & play.
• Teaching Philosophy: Emphasizes critical thinking, research skills, and integrating technology through collaboration with Mary Washington's Division of Teaching and Learning Technologies (DTLT).
