Magdalena Nowak

Magdalena Nowak is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Design, Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, specializing in Social Design. She holds dual graduate degrees from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk (Design with specialization in Watercraft Architecture) and Gdańsk University of Technology (Architecture and Urban Planning). As a member of the Association of Industrial Designers, she advocates for design as a tool for social change and responsible societal shaping.

Her research focuses on integrating design competencies into the shipbuilding industry, with doctoral work completed in 2024 on documenting design processes for floating unit architecture. She collaborates with Seatech Engineering (until 2023) and works at StoGda Ship Design & Engineering, emphasizing maritime design education and interdisciplinary industrial collaboration.
