About
Maeve Jackson serves as an Adjunct Instructor at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and maintains an active international art practice rooted in Milwaukee. Her nomadic creative process shifts with her residence, producing work across video, photography, and site-specific installations that have exhibited at venues including John Michael Kohler Art Center (Sheboygan, WI), Dean Jensen Gallery, Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel, and international spaces in Barcelona and Austria.
Central to Jackson's practice is medium fluidity and resistance to artistic categorization, with current focus on a non-traditional documentary exploring her family's farmland legacy. Her work consistently engages with personal narrative, environmental context, and experimental visual storytelling through evolving technical approaches in digital media and installation.
Her 2017 film "the beautiful" established her trajectory in experimental documentary forms, touring nationally after its premiere. This work exemplifies her fusion of autobiographical elements with innovative cinematic techniques within contemporary visual arts, particularly through video installations and narrative fragmentation across rural and urban landscapes.
