Madi Smith is a Researcher at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), affiliated with the Faculty of Engineering and the Centre for Agriculture and the Bioeconomy. She holds a Master of Philosophy (2023) and a Bachelor of Science (Biological Sciences) with Distinction from QUT, specializing in biotechnology, genetics, and business. Her research focuses on engineering microbial systems for biorefinery applications, particularly valorizing sugarcane by-products into high-value chemicals.
