Madeline Ratoza

Madeline Ratoza is an Assistant Professor and Associate Director of Clinical Education within the PT Programs at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS), based in Austin, TX. She joined USAHS in 2021 as core faculty, having previously served as contributing faculty for physical therapy practice courses. Her roles include teaching, clinical education leadership, and academic administration. Ratoza holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of California, San Francisco and San Francisco State University (2015) and is pursuing a second doctorate in physical therapy from Texas Woman’s University.

Her research focuses on health disparities, geospatial analysis, financial literacy, and the student experience, particularly regarding belonging and debt. She is actively involved in professional organizations, serving as Communications Chair of the Capital Area District of the Texas Physical Therapy Association, a steering committee member of the Informatics Rehab Collaborative, and a committee member of the Educational Planning and Innovation Committee of the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy. She is also a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and its Education and Leadership & Innovation sections.

Ratoza’s clinical background spans outpatient pediatrics, orthopedics, acute care, and home health for adults and children. Her interdisciplinary work bridges clinical practice, education, and population health, emphasizing equity and student success.
