Dr. Janis Henricksen is an Assistant Professor in the Physical Therapy Programs within the College of Rehabilitative Sciences at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (Dallas, TX campus). She holds a Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, an MS in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman's University, and a BS in Biology from Abilene Christian University.
Her research examines cervical spine/temporomandibular joint sensorimotor control, health/wellness promotion, and motivational interviewing. She holds certifications in Neurodevelopmental Treatment, Orthopedic Manual Therapy (IAOM), and is a Certified Exercise Expert for Aging Adults (APTA Geriatrics).
With over 20 years of clinical experience, Dr. Henricksen has worked in neuro-rehabilitation (Texas Neuro Rehab Center), brain injury care (Learning Services), acute care (Baylor Scott & White), and outpatient orthopedics (Texas Health Resources). She joined USAHS in 2021 as a Laboratory Assistant before becoming faculty.
