MUTEBER ERBAY

Mutiber Erbay is an Associate Professor at the Karadeniz Technical University, affiliated with the Faculty of Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture. She earned her PhD in Architecture in 2007 and Master’s degree in 2003 at the same university, focusing on globalization’s impact on Turkish architecture.

Her research interests span Interior Architecture, Design Studies, Globalization in Architecture, and Sustainable Design. She explores intersections of architecture with cinema, literature, and digital media, focusing on space perception, color ergonomics, and biophilic design.

Her 15 most recent articles (2025-2018) analyze urban transformation, cinematic space, biophilic design, color psychology, and design pedagogy. Topics range from Trabzon’s memory loss to dystopian spaces in Batman films and Le Corbusier’s housing units.

She has advised 7 graduate theses on themes like spatial details, stream of consciousness in architecture, and elder-friendly design, collaborating with institutions such as Elsevier Researcher Academy and TMMOB Mimarlar Odası. Her funded projects include Beşikdüzü Biliş Şenliği (TUBITAK) and Trabzon Urban Planning Assembly.
