MJ Kaplan serves as an Adjunct Professor at Brown University, where she taught courses in entrepreneurship and adaptive strategy. She holds an MEd from Harvard University and a BA from Brown University. A globally recognized consultant, she founded Kaplan Consulting in 2000 and leads a global network advising social enterprises and governments. Her expertise spans systems transformation, future of work, and women's leadership.
She served as an Ian Axford Fulbright Fellow in New Zealand (2013), co-chairs the Social Enterprise Greenhouse board, and chairs Loomio’s board—a SaaS platform for collaborative decision-making. Recognized with Ashoka U’s Cordes Innovation Award (for Brown University contributions) and the Outstanding Mentor award, her work bridges academia and social impact.
