Dana Brakman Reiser

Professor Dana Brakman Reiser is the Centennial Professor of Law at Brooklyn Law School, where she previously served as Vice Dean. Her expertise spans Corporate Law, Non-Profit Organizations, Property Law, and Social Enterprise. She teaches courses in Corporations, Nonprofit Law, Social Enterprise, Property, and Trusts and Estates. Her research focuses on the intersection of business and charity, particularly legal frameworks for social enterprises and philanthropic organizations. She holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Her scholarship includes seminal works like For-Profit Philanthropy: Elite Power and the Threat of Limited Liability Companies (2023) and Social Enterprise Law: Trust, Public Benefit, and Capital Markets (2017). She is a member of the American Law Institute and has held leadership roles in the American Association of Law Schools' Nonprofit and Business Law sections. Her work addresses evolving governance challenges in philanthropy, ESG investing transparency, and hybrid organizational models.
