Lynne Greenberg is a full-time Professor in the Department of English at Hunter College, CUNY, specializing in seventeenth-century English literature, particularly John Milton, and exploring intersections of law, politics, and material culture in early modern literature. She has been affiliated with Hunter since 2001.

Her research focuses on John Milton, Early Modern law, and the interplay between legal frameworks and literary works. She also writes memoirs and creative non-fiction, blending personal narrative with literary analysis. Her memoir The Body Broken (2009) retells Milton’s Paradise Lost through a personal lens.
Professor Greenberg teaches undergraduate and graduate courses including John Milton, Seventeenth-Century Literature, and Law and Literature. She has contributed to publications analyzing Milton’s prose and poetry alongside early modern legal contexts.
