Lynn Raine

Lynn Raine, PhD, MSW, LCSW, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Work and Social Ecology at Loma Linda University. She holds a PhD in Social Work from Smith College (2019) and an MSW from California State University, Long Beach (2006). Her areas of specialization include mental health trauma therapy, psychodynamic approaches, Latino/Latina-focused practice, and social work education innovation.

Dr. Raine’s research focuses on gatekeeping practices in social work education, clinical social work identity, and experiential learning methodologies. She has published in journals like the Journal of Baccalaureate Social Work and presented at conferences such as the Council on Social Work Education Annual Program Meeting. Her work emphasizes bridging theory and practice through collaborative frameworks.

Dr. Raine is a licensed clinical social worker in California (#25214) and actively contributes to professional organizations including the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and the Society for Social Work and Research (SSWR). She serves as a manuscript reviewer for Social Work in Public Health and Journal of Indigenous Research.
