Lynette Russell AM is ARC Laureate Professor and Sir John Monash Distinguished Professor specializing in Indigenous histories and colonial encounters. Her interdisciplinary research examines Dutch/Spanish contact with Aboriginal Australians and develops decolonizing methodologies.
Pioneering work includes studies on Aboriginal whalers and analysis of museum collections through Indigenous perspectives. Current Laureate project investigates 1000 years of global encounters through maritime archaeology and archival research.
