Lyle Cochran

Lyle Cochran is a Professor of Mathematics at Whitworth University, where he has been teaching since 1995. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. from Washington State University and a B.S. from Oregon State University. His research focuses on real analysis, approximation theory, and the integration of technology in mathematics education. He is a co-author of several widely used calculus textbooks, including Calculus Early Transcendentals (2019) and AP Calculus (2017).

Cochran is an active presenter on calculus pedagogy, technology integration, and classroom innovation. Notable talks include 'Flipping a Classroom with an iPad' (2014) and 'Interactive Animations for Calculus' (2011). He received the Academic Challenge Award from Whitworth University in 2010.

He teaches a range of courses from freshman calculus to advanced topics like Numerical Analysis and Advanced Calculus. His work emphasizes engaging students through interactive methods and modern educational technologies.
