Lutf Y. Alkebsi is a Senior Lecturer in Arabic at the University of Maryland's School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures. He holds a B.A. in Arabic from Dhamar University (Yemen, 1997). Before joining Maryland, he taught at Tufts University (2009–2010) and Brandeis University (2006–2009), focusing on Arabic language and culture. He also contributed to the Middlebury Arabic Summer School for eight semesters.
His expertise includes Arabic language instruction at all proficiency levels (beginning to advanced) and Arabic calligraphy. He has extensive international teaching experience, including roles at Yemen's Center for Arabic Language and Eastern Studies. His pedagogical approach emphasizes cultural integration alongside linguistic proficiency.
