Professor Lutao Ning is a Professor of International Business at Queen Mary University of London, affiliated with the Department of Business Analytics and Applied Economics within the School of Business and Management. Previously, he served as Director of International Learning at Queen Mary and held a Lecturer position in International Business at Durham University. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge, an MBA from the University of Liverpool, and an MA from SOAS, University of London.
His research focuses on innovation, foreign direct investment (FDI), state-owned enterprises, and spatial economics, with notable projects including studies on FDI knowledge spillovers, multinational enterprise innovation strategies, and green innovation finance. He is a member of the Business Ecosystems Research Group (BERG) and actively supervises doctoral candidates exploring topics like FDI effects, corporate governance, and technological diversification.
Professor Ning teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as BUS304 (International Business) and BUSM089 (International Business Strategy). His work extends to public engagement, advising China's State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC). His research has been published extensively, addressing themes like government policies' impact on innovation, FDI spillover mechanisms, and regional development strategies.
