Luke Georghiou is the Deputy President and Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Manchester, holding a dual role as Professor of Science and Technology Policy and Management in the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research at the Alliance Manchester Business School. He oversees business engagement, commercialization, and executive duties while maintaining active research and policy advisory roles globally.
His research focuses on innovation management, evaluation of R&D policies, foresight methodologies, and science policy. Key areas include public procurement's role in stimulating innovation, Horizon 2020 projects on innovation ecosystems, and real-time evaluation of the CityVerve IoT pilot. He chairs the European Universities Association Council for Doctoral Education and co-chaired the 2016 Euroscience Open Forum.
