Georghiou Luke

Prof. Luke Georghiou serves as Vice-President for Research and Innovation and Professor of Science and Technology Policy at the University of Manchester's Manchester Business School. He has been affiliated with the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research and its precursor institute PREST since 1977, serving as Executive Director from 1990-2004. His roles include shaping the University's research strategy, business engagement, and commercialization activities.

Research focuses on innovation policy evaluation, foresight methodologies, international science policy, and public sector research dynamics. Notable contributions include chairing EU panels like the High-level Expert Group on the European Research Area and authoring influential reports such as Creating an Innovative Europe.
