Luke Desforges

Dr Luke Desforges is the Academic Director for Sheffield Hallam University's London campus, overseeing academic strategy across undergraduate, postgraduate, apprenticeship, and professional development programs. Previously held roles include Associate Dean for Business and Enterprise in the College of Social Sciences and Arts, and Head of the Department of the Natural and Built Environment. His career began as a lecturer in Geography at Aberystwyth University, with additional experience at the University of Sheffield.

Research focuses on the intersection of UK society/culture with global impacts, particularly through tourism in Peru, museum representations of migration at Ellis Island, and development charity operations. Methodologies emphasize qualitative approaches including ethnography and historical archives.
