Prof. Luitzen de Boer is a Professor at NTNU's Department of Industrial Economics and Technology Management within the Faculty of Economics and Management. His academic career began with an MSc and PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Twente (Netherlands), before joining NTNU in 2004.
His research focuses on sustainable procurement practices, circular economy strategies in construction sectors, and innovation ecosystems. He explores how public procurement mechanisms can drive environmental performance, particularly in zero-emission neighborhood (ZEN) projects. His work integrates systemic thinking, stakeholder collaboration, and lifecycle assessment methodologies.
