Lucy McCormick

Lucy McCormick is a solo performer and co-founder of Get in the Back of the Van theatre company, affiliated with the School of English and Drama at Queen Mary University of London. She tours extensively both nationally and internationally and has established herself as a prominent figure in contemporary performance art.

Her research and artistic practice centers on innovative solo performance techniques, exploring boundaries between traditional theatre and experimental art forms. She investigates audience engagement, narrative deconstruction, and physical storytelling through her original works, contributing significantly to the evolution of modern performance disciplines.

McCormick has collaborated with leading artists including Tim Etchells, Scottee, Trygve Wakenshaw, Dickie Beau, Lauren Bari Holstein, and Richard Dedomenici. As part of the Artist Research Fellowship Scheme at Queen Mary, she integrates academic research with practical artistic creation, bridging institutional scholarship and professional theatre practice.
