Dr Lucy Allen-Goss is a researcher at the Centre for Medieval Studies at the University of York, with a focus on interdisciplinary approaches to medieval literature. She previously held academic positions at the University of Cambridge and Trinity College, Dublin.
She earned her PhD in Medieval Studies from the University of York in 2013. Her research explores intersections of gender and sexuality in medieval texts, particularly Middle English romances and Chaucer’s works. Recently, she has expanded her interests to include nature and horticulture in medieval contexts.
In 2020, she published the book Female Desire in Chaucer's Legend of Good Women and Middle English Romance, which examines representations of female agency and desire. Her work bridges literary analysis with broader cultural and historical frameworks.
