Lucas Crawford is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at the University of New Brunswick (Fredericton Faculty of Arts). Originally from rural Nova Scotia, he previously taught gender studies at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia. His research spans 20th/21st-century British literature, queer and transgender studies, architectural theory, and intersections of food, fat, and affect.

Dr. Crawford is actively engaged in creative and academic projects, including a poetry book on New York City's High Line Park and an academic book analyzing body size discourses in popular culture and contemporary British novels. He recently edited a special issue of Matrix magazine on transgender literature.
