
About
Luca Ratti is an Associate Professor of European and Comparative Labour Law at the Department of Law, Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance, University of Luxembourg. He holds a Jean Monnet Chair in EU Labour Law and serves as Director of the Master 1 in European Law and head of the Department's Teaching Committee. Additionally, he actively participates in the University's Reasonable Accommodations Committee, promoting awareness and support for students' special needs through multimedia initiatives.
His academic journey includes a PhD in Labour Law with distinction from the University of Bologna (2007) and a cum laude degree from the University of Modena (2003). He served as Post-doctoral Researcher at Verona and Bologna (2008-2012) and as Senior Researcher/Adjunct Professor at Bologna (2012-2015) before joining the University of Luxembourg in 2015.
Prof. Ratti's research centers on critical labor law challenges including in-work poverty, minimum wage regulation, and the digitalization of work relations, with emphasis on the sustainability of the European social model. His work bridges academic rigor and real-world policy impact through international conferences and public engagement.

He serves on the editorial board of four labour law journals and contributes to the European Centre of Expertise on Labour Law, including co-founding the MUAR – Musée vun der Aarbecht labor museum in Esch-sur-Alzette.
