Luca Lambertini

Luca Lambertini is a Full Professor of Political Economy at the Department of Economics, University of Bologna, affiliated with the School of Economics, Management and Statistics. He leads the Alma Climate Research Institute (Alma Climate) and has held roles including Head of the Department of Economics (2012–2015) and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences (2006–2012). His education includes a PhD in Political Economy (University of Bologna, 1994) and a DPhil in Economics (University of Oxford, 1995).

His research focuses on environmental economics, game theory, industrial organization, and climate policy. Notable contributions include studies on differential games, renewable resource management, and the Porter hypothesis in environmental regulation. He has led projects like the H2020 I-CHANGE initiative and serves on editorial boards for journals such as Dynamic Games and Applications and Economic Systems.

He is a member of prestigious organizations, including the Accademia delle Scienze dell'Istituto di Bologna and IFAC’s TC 2.4. His work bridges theoretical economics with practical policy solutions, particularly in sustainability and global challenges.
